Friends and Family Support Groups
Domestic Violence Friends & Family Support Group was created by Domestic Violence Advocacy Services out of Everett Washington. The purpose of this group is to create a supportive and educational environment for friends and family of domestic violence victims and survivors. It is often the case that we have loved ones in a violent situation and feel out of control or helpless. It is our intention to help you understand domestic violence and be supportive to your loved ones. We will also provide a safe environment for you to discuss your situation to gain understanding. We welcome you.
It is held at the Everett Colby Campus of Providence Hospital in the Mt. Adams room.
Please check out our calendar for the next group. For specific directions click here.
Domestic Violence Safety Plan Guidelines
Domestic Violence Safety Plan Guidelines
One of the most important things you can do when developing your safety plan is to talk to a victim advocate who can help you fully consider safety issues, understand your legal rights, and identify community resources (e.g., shelters, sources of financial assistance, or food banks). You can locate a victim advocate through DVA which provides services at no-charge to victims 425-224-3844.
The National Crime Victim Helpline (1-800-FYI-CALL) can also help you prepare a safety plan and find victim assistance within your own community. The following safety suggestions have been compiled from safety plans distributed by state domestic violence coalitions from around the country. Following these suggestions is not a guarantee of safety, but could help improve your safety situation.
